Meet Your 2025 Applefest Officers

  • Martha Brangenberg, President

Martha and her husband, Jim, fell in love with Marionville over the years, turning their second home into a permanent one in 2023. As they renovated the old library, they got to know the wonderful people of our town—and Applefest became a big part of that journey! Now in her third year on the Applefest committee, Martha is excited to help make this year’s festival the best yet.

When she’s not planning for Applefest, you’ll find her working on DIY projects, gardening, and renovating more buildings in town. And if you love homemade apple coffee cake like Martha, keep an eye on the baking contest… she just might be entering her favorite!

  • Sher Wetzel, Vice-President

Sher joined the Applefest Committee in January of 2022, so this will be her third Applefest! For Sher, being a volunteer for Applefest was a great way to meet wonderful people in Marionville, as she was a new resident in December 2021. Sher says: “Getting involved in an annual event such as Applefest also gives you a sense of

community and it is very rewarding to work towards a goal and see the Festival grow and flourish each year.” Traditional Hometown Festivals are not only nostalgic, but the growth of Applefest is also a promise for a prosperous future for the town of Marionville.

  • Anna Brown, Secretary

Though she doesn’t currently live in Marionville, Anna was raised here and is a proud Marionville High School Class of 2011 alum (Go Comets!). She works as a Sales Administrator for a local security alarm company, but when she’s not working, she’s a busy mom of two and an active volunteer in her church’s children’s ministry and other programs.

2024 was Anna’s first year being involved with the Applefest Association, and she’s excited to take on this new role to help give back to the festival that gave her so many great childhood memories. Her goal is to help make Applefest a fun, family-friendly event that people want to attend year after year!

  • Sarah Norris, Treasurer

Sarah became a proud Marionville resident in 2019 after meeting and marrying longtime native Caleb Norris. It didn’t take long for this small town to feel like home! Caleb quickly turned her into an honorary Comet fan, and now she loves cheering on the home team whenever she can.

By day, Sarah works as a bookkeeper and helps run their small business, but she and Caleb stay busy with house projects, spending time with their church family, and doting on their two-year-old Aussiedoodle, Huck.

Sarah has been involved with the AppleFest committee for a few years now. After taking last year off to handle family affairs following the passing of her father-in-law, Jeff, she’s excited to jump back in for 2025—especially since Jeff was honored as the Golden Apple recipient last year. Receiving that award on his behalf was a special moment for her family, and this year, she’s honored to serve in an even bigger role alongside her mom to help make AppleFest the best one yet!

  • Kimber Hull, Fun Squad Team Lead

The Applefest Committee is excited to welcome Kimber as a new volunteer this year and the Team Lead of the Fun Squad—the group dedicated to bringing all the fun to the festival!

A 2010 graduate, Kimber has been married to her husband, Jared, for 11 years and together they have two boys. She is also the owner of The Sticker Studio, a small business specializing in custom stickers and banners.

With a passion for creativity and serving others, Kimber is eager to help the Fun Squad deliver an unforgettable festival experience. From giant inflatables to hosting parties in the park and everything in between, she is committed to making this the most fun Applefest yet! Stay tuned—we can’t wait to share all the exciting new plans with you!
