Sher Wetzel, Vice President
Sher Wetzel is serving her fourth year as Vice President of Applefest and is proud to be entering her fifth year as a volunteer with the festival. In her role, she helps coordinate several key aspects of the event, including managing social media, assisting with fundraising efforts, and capturing festival memories through photography. Her strengths in organization, creativity, and event planning—developed through past work experience—help support the planning and promotion that make Applefest a success each year. Sher especially enjoys helping showcase the many talented local vendors and businesses that make the festival unique.
Sher and her husband purchased their home in Marionville in 2021 and are grateful to call the community home. They truly enjoy the small-town atmosphere and the sense of connection it brings. In addition to volunteering with Applefest, Sher plays piano at her church and enjoys staying involved in the community. In her spare time she loves traveling, camping, kayaking, hiking, swimming, gardening, knitting, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. What she loves most about Applefest is the sense of community pride that comes from everyone working together to make the event happen—along with the live entertainment, opportunities for local vendors, and of course the beloved Apple Pie & Dessert Contest.
Allison McCord, Secretary
The Marionville Applefest organization is proud to welcome Allison McCord as our new secretary. Although Allison has only been involved with the organization for a few months, she has already shown a strong commitment to supporting the community and helping the event continue to thrive.
Allison brings with her over 10 years of experience working in the insurance industry, where organization, communication, and attention to detail are key. These skills make her a great addition to the Applefest team as the organization continues planning events and activities for the community.
Her motivation for joining Marionville Applefest comes from a deeply personal place. As a mother of two young children who will grow up in this community, Allison wanted to become involved in an organization that focuses on creating positive opportunities for kids and families. She was also excited about the chance to meet more members of the community and help maintain a welcoming environment where children can feel safe, supported, and encouraged.
As secretary, Allison hopes to help strengthen relationships throughout the community while working alongside other members to continue creating a fun, family-friendly, and safe environment for everyone who attends Applefest events.
Outside of her involvement with Applefest, Allison enjoys spending time with her family. Her husband and son race dirt bikes, so many weekends are spent at the track cheering them on. It’s a place where their family has built meaningful friendships and where they enjoy watching each other pursue their goals. Her daughter, the youngest, is already eager to join in on the riding as well. When they aren’t at the track, Allison and her family enjoy fishing at the lake, spending time outdoors, and she occasionally finds time to relax with a bit of gardening.
Allison is excited to be part of the Marionville Applefest organization and looks forward to contributing to the continued success of the festival and the community it brings together.
