MARIONVILLE APPLE FEST SCHOLARSHIP
Marionville Apple Fest will be awarding a $2,000.00 scholarship to a worthy individual in the spring of 2027. The $2,000.00 will be split into 4 - $500.00 annual payments and deposited into the winning student’s account at the school they are attending if he/she remains in school and earn a 3.0 GPA or better. The scholarship will be awarded by the Apple Fest Committee based on the student’s essay and financial need.
If you are a student who wants an extra boost to launch your post-secondary education, then here is what we want from you! Please submit 2 letters of reference along with an essay on this year’s topic. “Apple Fest: In the Land of the Big Red Apple”? This year, Apple Fest is 38 years old. That is a lot of history to celebrate.
The essay must be between 200 and 400 words and must include an introduction paragraph, a topic sentence, and a conclusion paragraph. Essays will also be judged on proper grammar and punctuation.
Our history does not define us, but it does shape our outlook. How does Apple Fest affect us as individuals, a community, or even our world? What made “Apple Fest: In the Land of the Big Red Apple”? Marionville used to have 7 active apple orchards. How did that affect Marionville? How can we honor our heritage and draw from the experience of those who have walked this path before us? We want to hear from you! Your experience and perspective are priceless!
Applicants must be graduating seniors at Marionville High School in the class of 2027 and plan to attend a post-secondary program this fall, such as a college or trade school.
Essays should be given to your school counselor, Billie Green, emailed to Marionville_Applefest_Info@yahoo.com, or mailed to Marionville Applefest Association P.O. Box 238, Marionville, MO 65705. Please submit a copy of the essay and the recommendations, one with and one without your name. The deadline for submitting the essay is April 1, 2027.
The winner will be publicly announced at the Marionville High School Awards Assembly on April 2?, 2027, and will be featured in that year’s Apple Fest book. As well as being posted on the website.
